Originally from the UK and now writing from Australia, Lena Fenn has been telling stories since she was a teenager — filling notebooks long before she imagined anyone else would read them. She is the co-founder of Fenn & Fable — the independent book house she built for big-hearted, dark-edged stories.
She writes big, immersive epic fantasy: whole invented worlds you can disappear into, with something aching and deeply human at their heart. Her debut, A Map of Vanished Things, opens The Waking Lands — a world where the ground itself slowly wanders, so no one can ever return to the place they were born, and a girl brave enough to cross it.

Cleo Marsh writes darkly comic crime about clean surfaces and the dirty secrets beneath them — polished, ruthless women who are perfectly honest with the reader while lying to everyone else in the room. Before she wrote her own sentences, she spent years fixing other people’s.
She chose Fenn & Fable to publish her debut, Results May Vary — the confession of a beauty mogul who never quite set out to become a killer — so the book could keep its edges. She has also joined the House as Assistant Editor in the Writer’s Studio, working alongside Lena Fenn.

Noah first came to Fenn & Fable through the Writer’s Studio, which shaped his book’s atmospheric cover — then chose to join the House itself, so it could get behind the marketing of his book. His debut, Ask Her How She Knew, is a psychological suspense in which a woman writing a thriller about a killer starts to notice the real thing — and finds that no one will believe her. It is out now.

Tabitha Hale-Thorne writes from London, usually with a dog at her feet. She’s drawn to the overlooked side of history — not the kings and queens, but the people behind the scenes: the ones who did the difficult, dangerous, unglamorous work and were rarely thanked for it.
She chose Fenn & Fable as her publishing house for exactly what it is — small, fiercely focused on independent authors, and in love with the story above all else. Her debut, An Heir Most Inconvenient, is out now: a wickedly funny Tudor tale of the midwife who delivered the most dangerous baby in England — and then had to keep them both alive.

Iris Ashe writes from County Antrim, on the north coast of Ireland. A recent English Literature graduate at the very start of her writing life, she has just begun her first novel — a gothic dark fantasy about beautiful, deathless things and the mortals they can’t help but own.
She is writing her debut with the guidance of Lena Fenn — the House holding the door open for a new voice, chapter by chapter. You’ll be able to follow Daughters of the Rotting Crown from first page to finished cover.
