Iris Ashe

Gothic dark fantasy · her debut in progress

About

The author

Iris Ashe is a writer from County Antrim, on the north coast of Ireland, where she still lives and works. A recent English Literature graduate, she is right at the beginning of her writing life — and has just begun her first novel.

She writes gothic dark fantasy about beautiful, deathless things and the mortals they can’t help but own — drawn to the places where glamour turns to rot and love turns to a leash. The kind of story you read with the lamp on and the door locked.

The House Behind Her

Writing with Lena Fenn

Iris is writing her debut with the guidance of Lena Fenn, whose epic fantasy opened The Waking Lands. It is exactly what Fenn & Fable was built for — an established author holding the door for a new one, chapter by chapter, until the book is ready for the world.

Daughters of the Rotting Crown is taking shape now, from a desk in Antrim — and you’ll be able to follow it from first page to finished cover.

The Book

Daughters of the Rotting Crown

A gothic dark fantasy · Book One

You have belonged to them your whole life.

Deathless, beautiful and quietly rotting beneath the gold, the great Houses have owned human history for a thousand years — steered it, locked it, kept it. One ordinary woman is about to discover she is the only thing standing in their way. And the stranger who swears he loves her was sent to end her.
